Have you been to The Olive Groove, a ultra-premium extra virgin olive oil in downtown Grass Valley?  The shop provides top quality olive oils and aged balsamic vinegar from around the world.  Stop in and visit with owners Christina and Jake, they’re eager to share their love and knowledge of the olive oils and vinegar.  The tasting bar in the center of the shop provides sample pairings of the 70 varieties, but every oil on tap is available.  In the month of March the pairing special is Satsuma Mandarin Orange Balsamic and Thai Basil Oilve Oil, with an additional savings on Garlic Dipping Herbs and Mellow Mind Herbal Blend Tea.  In addition to oils the shop sells gourmet spices, skin care, gourmet foods (try the Runamok Bourbon Barrel-Aged Maple Syrup).  Another great idea is to book a private tasting party.  The tasting room is open seven days a week at 126 Mill Street, next to Lucchesi Vineyards Tasting Room.  The Olive Groove has offered up a set 250 ml bottles to giveaway to one lucky InnSide Nevada City blog reader, post a comment here and I’ll draw the winner on Wednesday, March 14th.  *Edited to say the winner is Kat.

Whenever friends visit they are so impressed with our twin city towns! The diversity of restaurants, wineries, breweries and food tasting rooms surprises them. The easygoing, historical feel to the downtown shopping areas welcome them. They are impressed we offer every possible music genre at multiple locations every night of the week, with such an eclectic entertainment itinerary. They are delighted by our parades for any reason, in every season!
They look forward to receiving alerts from me about extraordinary community happenings and the endless seasonal outdoor adventuring that Grass Valley and Nevada City offer year ’round. Nevada County is the most wonderful place to live, work and play!

I love this store. I had kinda forgotten about it, so thanks for the reminder, Erin! I bought a few bottles to give as gifts to my family on the east coast when we traveled out there last winter. They were a big hit! I have used one bottle at home, and you can definitely taste the quality of the oil.

I love their olive oils and vinegars. They have a great selection. I love the fact that they have a variety of plain olive oils and that they are tested for various attributes that indicate flash point, antioxidant qualities, etc. Thanks for highlighting them!

Yum, their pairing for March, the Blood Orange Olive Oil and Chocolate Balsamic Vinegar, sound like a delicious coupling! Chocolate and orange are always good together. Keep up the good work, Olive Groove!

We are fortunate to live in a region where we have access of so many small, local incredible olive oil and balsamic vinegar producers. I will need to swing by after an upcoming wildflower hike on the Buttermilk Bend Trail and take some back home. I love a great blends of flavors an incredible olive oil shop creates and blends for you to taste.

The Olive Groove donated an after-hours tasting class to the CORR silent auction and we won! In the two-hour party, we learned so much about olive oils (and how rancid ours were at home!) and tasted oodles of balsamic vinegars in sparkling water. Delicious! My favorite combo right now for salad dressing is their lime olive oil with blood orange balsamic for a Taco Salad.

It was hard not to buy every flavor of olive oil and balsamic vinegars that they had! Tasting at the Olive Groove was a great experience. Very enlightening!
