The Second City Hits Home Comedy Show
Who’s looking for a night of laughter? The Miners Foundry welcomes The Second City Hits Home comedy show Friday, February 6th and I’ve got 2 tickets to give away. The show will feature hilarious sketches, songs, and improvisation about Nevada County as well as material from the famed Second City archives. This is a must see night of comedy featuring some of Chicago’s brightest comedy stars in a special one night only engagement. Second City is the legendary improv group that everyone from Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, and every Saturday Night Live person has gone through. “It’s pretty much the comedy college for aspiring professional comedians,” explains Jesse Locks. “Always topical, irreverent, and hilarious, Second City is renowned for taking comedy to the next level. The Miners Foundry is thrilled to be welcoming Second City back to the Nevada City,” says Executive Director Gretchen Bond. Tickets are available online, $40 in advance at BriarPatch Co-op or $45 when the doors open at 7:30pm. What do you have to do to win a pair? Post a comment on the local hot topic you think the comedians should poke fun at and I’ll announce the winner on Wednesday, February 4th.

The Nevada County Peeps page on Facebook 🙂
Hey I see my husband! Yay Greg. Would LOVE to see their take on Peeps too!
Lighting downtown Nevada City haha 🙂
How about the always fun topic of political polarization in Nevada County!?
The Police Blotter.
I think the comedians should poke fun at the Police Blotter reports in the Union Newspaper.
I third Nevada County Peeps!
I would also nominate the NC Peeps or any of the other local online interaction sites.
The plastic bag ban. Lots of folks are up in arms about it and lots of other folks are happy about it.
I’m with you Govinda, would be nice to get a funny take on the “drama.”
The police hotter is a great place to start. Lot’s of material. I could use a good laugh
The police blotter is always interesting… and I love that our local paper’s blotter has made national news before.
What Terrazzo lights? Joke intended.
Festivals for every occasion.
You might have to give them some examples?
Low water levels in all the lakes
I’m trying to find the humor in that one… sad face.
There’s always something interesting… I’d be interested in their take on Joe Cain Day vs. Mardi Gras.
The fact that GV or NC will have a parade for *any* reason – and they’re all pretty much the same 🙂
Did you hear there was a flash mob on Broad Street today
The metal crowd barricades at the parades.
That people actually complain about parking in our town. Have you tried parking in a big city lately?
The war between nyc peeps and nc vents. Just the strange mixture of different people who populate the county. Trimigants
We could all use a little laughter 🙂
Weed- and that no one pays taxes; Butler amusements and the fact that they basically decide on the school calendar; that you will get flashed at Mardi Gras, but it will be by a 67 year old Merry Widow; NSJ-where a hippie and a redneck are the same person
