The White Snake
Opening its 23rd season Community Asian Theatre of the Sierra presents, The White Snake by Mary Zimmerman. The play, directed by Carolyn Howarth, adapts an ancient Chinese fable about a gentle serpent spirit and her feisty companion Green Snake, who transform themselves into beautiful women and travel down to the world of humans. She falls in love and decides to stay human until a wicked monk suspects her true identity and vows to destroy her. The show includes local actors; Olivia Pritchett, Lyra Dominguez, Tom Wolfe, Jon Enos, John Gardiner, Sue LeGate, Michael Lewis, Lila Reyna and Hock Tjoa, to name a few. The preview night is Thursday, April 13th and runs at the Nevada Theatre till May 6th (Thursday-Friday-Saturday evenings and Sunday matinee). Tickets available online or at BriarPatch Co-op.
