Treats

What do you when the temperature soars and all you want to do is eat ice cream and go to the South Yuba River?  We are excited to share the our favorite local ice cream shop, Treats, has moved to their new location.  You can now find all your favorite artisans ice cream flavors (Pear Ginger sorbet, Chai Coconut (vegan) ice cream and River Hill Red sorbet; a combination of sweet red peppers and strawberries from local Riverhill Farm and Chaffin Family Orchard Peach) at 210 Main Street, in the former Shaw Antiques building.  So, for those of you who are dreaming of Mint Chip, cookie dough or the salted caramel gelato  post a comment on your favorite ice cream flavor and we’ve got a $10 gift certificate to Treats to give away on the blog.  And good news for those ice cream lovers, Treats has recently expanded its summer hours, now open till 9pm Monday-Thursday and 10pm Friday-Saturday and Sundays.  Winner will be announced on Monday, August 7th.  And because we all scream for ice cream, here are a few more photos to help remind you why you need to keep calm and eat ice cream.  *Edited to say the winner is Deanna W.

    Mmmmm lemon, strawberry, even good old vanillla are some of my solid go-to flavors! Love Treats, love ice cream, excited to visit them in their new location!

    The mint chocolate chip is my absolute favorite but I’ve never had a flavor there that wasn’t fantastic!

    MMM, mocha almond fudge on a sugar cone is the best. Of course the bing cherry is awesome. But then you can’t beat the Bailey’s

    Strawberry is my all time favortie. So happy to see they’ve expanded. I did love the little Shop feel though. I liked being cramped with strangers and striking up a conversation. Everyone was always so pleasant and excited to get their Treat!

    I had some Porter icecream at 3 Forks/Wheyward Cheese pairing this spring. It was fabulous. It reminded me of rich brown sugar. I went by Treats on Sunday after volunteering at the chamber to get a scoop of something and it was so packed I walked on home. Great they have been relocated to handle the masses! Keep up with the great taste…..

    Bourbon Breakfast is by far the best ice cream I’ve ever had! Like ever. We actually went to Treats twice this past weekend. Got to meet the owner and she is the sweetest gal ever. Guess it’s natural when you make ice cream for a living!

    My whole family loves Treats! I love to try a new flavor every time we go. Anything berry is my favorite, and my daughter and husband always get chocolate, so I make sure to sneak in a few bites of theirs too 🙂

    I’m so happy Treats is open again. Their new space looks great but I think I’ll miss crowding in to the old store – smelling the great aromas and visiting with the others in line. Mint chip is super, but I really like the salted caramel gelato and chocolate peanut butter too!
