The weather is warming up in Nevada City and it’s a perfect time to visit our friends at Treats. As you can see below their ice cream doesn’t last long! Peggy & Bob Wright describe their ice cream as “Homemade artisans ice cream, made with local and organic ingredients, when possible.” If you’re not in the mood for ice cream try a scoop of gelato, a fresh baked cookie or a latte. Located at 110 York Street across the street from Ike’s Quarter Cafe. The Outside Inn is excited to say that we’ve got a special giveaway to our blog readers, 2 lucky winners will receive a free pint of ice cream. Please post a comment on this post telling us your favorite ice cream flavor and I’ll draw the winner on Monday, May 14th. And speaking of winners, the lucky winner of last week’s giveaway from the Briar Patch Co-op post is Athena, stop on by the Outside Inn for your new set of Stack’d Everday Napkins.

Hard to pick a favorite! Lemon custard is pretty hard to pass up. The mushroom they had a little while ago was awesome! It’s ALL good!
It is a hard choice, but the new California Bay Ice Cream is my favorite. It is delicious, 100% local from our native California Bay and unlike anything I have ever tasted before.
I haven’t tried the Bay Laurel leaf yet, but I made a chocolate cake with bay leaf syrup last year that I loved! Hiking on Stephen’s Trail this weekend, I saw wild California bay leaf growing and it reminded me of the yumminess. I’ll have to get to Treats to try their bay leaf ice cream soon!
Hi Erin : )
My favorites are Swiss Orange Chip, Raspberry Chip and Lemon Custard. Now I’m craving ice cream…I’ll have to run down and grab some as soon as I can cut out of here!
Hummm so many good flavors to pick from… There was a coffee flavored homemade one and yummy peanut butter one… If make it a two scoop can I have 2 favorites!?!
First I look for something with the word “Ginger” in it. If no luck, then lemon varieties usually get my vote!
Um, yes please!!! Best seasonal mint chip ever!
Even though all of Treats’ ice cream is the best ever, I am a total sucker for the mint chip…mmmm!
These favours sound amazing. I may have to drive up Just to try a few!
lemon custard or a scoop of pistachio with a scoop of chocolate. One of our favorite spots in NC!
Josh is a great ice cream model 🙂
My new favorite is raspberry chip, a great summer flavor to hold me over until they get pumpkin back!
All of the ice cream flavors at Treat are incredible. The Mint Chip has such a fresh taste of mint, it’s fabulous. Even the vanilla is a real treat.
I love this place! My fav. flavor is the pear ginger. They even have a vegan ice cream if you’re so inclined. They have gluten free cones too! If you’re not familiar with NC it might be easy to miss. Look for it tucked away on York Street.
Another vote for lemon custard — I CRAVE it!
Love that lemon custard!!!!!
Mint chip. Yummie!!
I don’t know how you’re going to send me a pint of ice cream in Seattle without it melting but my current favorite flavor is salted caramel. Yum.
We’re going to eat it for you and take a photo 🙂
I love getting the peanut butter but I have to say the lemon custard is very yummy too!!!!
Vanilla – simply the best (and one of their awesome chocolate chip cookies, please!)
Without a doubt, hands down, it’s swiss orange chip! I have my collages displayed in the shop currently and no matter how hard I try to not give in when I’m the shop, I have to have a scoop! It calls my name so loudly that I must appease the noise lol.
I see Josh has been practising his ice-cream eating skills. 🙂
I’m easy to please…love anything with strawberries and chocolate!
Chai Coconut (Vegan!)….mmmmmmm!!!!
This may sound boring, but I love their vanilla ice cream. So yummy!!!
I LOVE pear ginger! They even saved me a pint when they were running low one night.
Cardomom is my top choice these days! But… My favorite classic is pecan praline!
When I worked at Baskin Robbins my favorite flavor was pralines & cream…no-one could pronounce it…chocolate peanut butter cup was always a winner, too. Licorice at Halloween time…turned everyone’s mouths black. Do they have green tea ice cream? Yum!
I love the mint chip! So tasty!
pear ginger…swiss orange chip….mint chip…..green tea…..lemon custard – there is no way I could pick just one! We ? Treats…Peggy & Bob.
peanut butter cup, what else?
Hot weather a fruit flavor. While my favorite is chocolate chip, there is nothing like any chocolate. We are so lucky to have so many. Choices.
The Coconut Chai sorbet is my favorite! It’s sure to please the taste buds of vegans and non-vegans alike!
My favorite flavor is the Green Tea… not only does it taste so yummy – the color is a wonderful shade of green!
I <3 the Chai Coconut at Treats! Eating a whole pint would be divine!
Hmmmmm… If I have to choose, I would say the fresh mint chip ice cream, made with the mint from their garden, it is delicious!
