Nevada City ice cream

The weather is warming up in Nevada City and it’s a perfect time to visit our friends at Treats.  As you can see below their ice cream doesn’t last long!  Peggy & Bob Wright describe their ice cream as “Homemade artisans ice cream, made with local and organic ingredients, when possible.”  If you’re not in the mood for ice cream try a scoop of gelato, a fresh baked cookie or a latte.  Located at 110 York Street across the street from Ike’s Quarter Cafe.  The Outside Inn is excited to say that we’ve got a special giveaway to our blog readers, 2 lucky winners will receive a free pint of ice cream.  Please post a comment on this post telling us your favorite ice cream flavor and I’ll draw the winner on Monday, May 14th.  And speaking of winners, the lucky winner of last week’s giveaway from the Briar Patch Co-op post is Athena, stop on by the Outside Inn for your new set of Stack’d Everday Napkins.

Hard to pick a favorite! Lemon custard is pretty hard to pass up. The mushroom they had a little while ago was awesome! It’s ALL good!

It is a hard choice, but the new California Bay Ice Cream is my favorite. It is delicious, 100% local from our native California Bay and unlike anything I have ever tasted before.

I haven’t tried the Bay Laurel leaf yet, but I made a chocolate cake with bay leaf syrup last year that I loved! Hiking on Stephen’s Trail this weekend, I saw wild California bay leaf growing and it reminded me of the yumminess. I’ll have to get to Treats to try their bay leaf ice cream soon!

    Hi Erin : )

First I look for something with the word “Ginger” in it. If no luck, then lemon varieties usually get my vote!

I love this place! My fav. flavor is the pear ginger. They even have a vegan ice cream if you’re so inclined. They have gluten free cones too! If you’re not familiar with NC it might be easy to miss. Look for it tucked away on York Street.

Without a doubt, hands down, it’s swiss orange chip! I have my collages displayed in the shop currently and no matter how hard I try to not give in when I’m the shop, I have to have a scoop! It calls my name so loudly that I must appease the noise lol.
