2014-06-26_0001Treats, 110 York Street in Nevada City is well-known for their ice cream, sorbet and sweet treats, but today they’ve just launched a new product, Sundaes to Go.  Each week there will a new special pre-packaged with a scoop of ice cream, plus several toppings in an easy to grab and go package.  In honor of today’s World Cup soccer the first sundae will be red, white and blue theme with strawberries, vanilla ice cream and blueberries.  Future combos may include: Salt Carmel gelato, caramel sauce and pecans, S’mores Sundae with marshmallows, graham crackers chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream.  Or perhaps you’d like a lemon custard ice cream and fruity sorbet with strawberry or peach sauce or a strawberry ice cream with nutella?  If you’re organizing a party or a birthday celebration this summer, stop by Treats and put your order in for a special order.  The Outside Inn’s blog has a giveaway, please post your comment on the Sundae to Go suggestion and I’ll draw the winner for two $5 gift certificates on Friday, July 4th.  Remember Treats is open seven days a week from noon till 9pm and till 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays and during the summer months York Street will be closed 6- 10 pm for a cafe scene in the middle of the street.  And if you’re not in the mood for a sundae (either to go or to have at Treats), grab an ice cream, an affogato, sorbet freeze or a root beer float?

Love that, but kids have the best ability to figure out the best places and tell you why you need to go back, why am I not surprised?

Ice cream, sorbet, shaved ice, frozen yogurt, snow cone, milk shake/malt are in my top five of guilty pleasures.

Ice cream is the most welcomed treat to reward myself after a good hike!

Everything in the photos looks so good and refreshing, especially anytime during the hot summer days and nights!

These all look delicious! I’d love to try the salted caramel gelato!
I love fruit on ice cream, so maybe fresh sliced peaches on vanilla ice cream topped with some slivered almonds would be my Sundae to Go suggestion!

If you’re an alcoholic and a vegetarian look away………I mean it. Look away……How about an AA Sundae with a scoop of the Bourbon Breakfast on a waffle cone with sugared bacon bits and caramel?
