Have you had a chance to pop in and check out the new TYSA Designs store in downtown Nevada City?  Located on the corner at 300 Spring Street, on the corner of South Pine Street (next door to South Pine Cafe) the boutique offers clothing from the TYSA Designs line (skirts, dresses, jump suits and kimonos), plus a small batch of unique handpicked items and goodies from The Wild Wooden SpoonHeather Marie Heaton, Agnes Baddoo, Assouline, Communion by Joy, Spiritual Kindling, Shiva RoseLe Feu De L’Eau, Bret’s Frameworks, Katie Gong and Aleksandra Zee.

When asked Tysa Wright wanted to open her shop here in Nevada City she responded, “Nevada City is a place I’ve spent summers and time with family since I was a child, it’s always held a special place in my heart.  Nevada City has always been such a beautiful and supportive community since the day we started the line almost 17 years ago.  It’s always felt right to open the first of our TYSA flagship stores right here.”

The shop is open 7 days a week (Monday -Thursday 11am-5pm, Friday 11am-6pm, Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 10am-5pm), you can pop in and check it out.  And since we all know that I love giveaways (sorry, I really cannot top the Holiday Giveaway), Tysa has offered up two gift certificates for the InnSide Nevada City blog readers, one worth $100 and the other worth $50, post a comment on this post and I’ll draw the winners on Monday, January 7th.  *Edited to say the winner of the $100 gift certificate is Rosie M and the winner of the $50 gift certificate is Jenn B, congrats.

I stumbled on Tysa a few weeks ago, during one of the town’s Victorian Christmas weekends. Coming in from the crowds and into Tysa’s beautiful, calm space, with all its lovely colors and gorgeous fabrics, was the best part of the day! I bought a pair of the softest, most unique sweatpants (it’s almost a shame to call them that–doesn’t do them justice, selected from the very rack shown above) that I have pretty much lived in ever since. And the staff was warm and welcoming, despite what was probably a crazy day. Tysa is a new favorite and must-stop for anyone who loves one-of-a-kind, well-made clothes.

What an awesome review, I understand the benefit of an oasis during Victorian Christmas and bonus to find something that’s comfortable and fashionable at the same time. Thanks for playing along, maybe you’ll end up with something else new?

It’s been neat to see the reincarnation of that space over the last decade. I’m happy to see they’ll be open in time for Wild and Scenic Film Festival! Talk about foot traffic!

Who’s calling you a hermit? You can live vicariously through life outside from the creature comforts of your own home (or phone while sitting in the car). You do realize that these projects motivate me too to get out and about?
