Valentine’s Day 2014 will be the 20th Valentine’s Day I will be celebrating with my soul mate, best friend, love of my life and dear husband, RJ.
We don’t have any concrete plans set that I know of, yet, so if I am the lucky winner selected for the InnSide Nevada City Valentine’s Day giveaway, we would be honored to celebrate this beautiful holiday in Nevada City!
We usually go out to dinner at a nice restaurant that serves surf and turf for a quiet, romantic evening, together.
Congratulations!
Thank you, Erin!
I’m going to celebrate Velentine’s Day by loving my man as much as I love him every other day of the year.
I agree that we should say I love you to our loved ones 365 days a year!
My husband and I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day. This year, however, we’ve decided to take a trip because it’s a 3 day weekend for my husband. So, the whole family, in fact, will be spending it in Nevada City at the Outside Inn! YEAH!!! We can’t wait.
Yeah!!! And I know you’ve got lots of things to do based on your other comments on the blog.
Quiet night out. Quiet night in.
Nothing wrong with that… and your significant other might enjoy the flourless chocolate cake when you bring it home with flowers, right? Maybe you should get her to comment too to increase your odds?
Plans are up in the air……but you’ve planted the seed that it’s time to think nice dinner out or chocolate and champagne in.
Cheers!
I expect to be home that night, which is fine. I like to put together a dinner for me and him to enjoy. May break open an older bottle of wine too.
I have a few of those bottles of wine that I save for some occasion, I agree.. maybe Valentine’s Day is a good enough excuse to drink one of them?
I have NO idea what I’m doing : ) hopefully a surprise will come around!
Well flowers certainly would help!
On Feb. 14th,my Mom and I have that day off from work so we are dedicating that day to the event Nevada County Coalition of One Billion Rising Nevada County on Feb. 14th, 2014, at 5:30PM will join with activists around the world for ONE BILLION RISING FOR JUSTICE. The campaign will build upon the energy and momentum that was created on February 14, 2013 when one billion activists in 207 countries and territories came together to rise, strike, and dance, in the biggest mass action in human history, to demand an end to violence against women and girls. What a great way to spend this holiday! We encourage you all to partake!
I loved the photos from last year, please feel free to share if you take any this year.
We will be celebrating at Emily’s. This is our second year if being married and we celebrate Valentines day every day!
Congrats!
Thank you, Erin, for once again providing such great local ideas for celebrating. I love to get inspiration from your photos, and your blog always surprises me with businesses/events that I haven’t yet discovered! I don’t have any firm plans for Valentine’s Day yet, but chocolate WILL be involved! 🙂
Chocolate sounds like a great idea, and I’m so glad I can help you discover new places to find chocolate.
I plan on celebrating Valentine’s day with loved ones, in a great little town I love! Thanks for all the great suggestions on celebrating Valentine’s day!
You’re welcome.
And if you’re looking for something just a bit more saucy (and possibly shocking at moments) check out the Valentine Erotique at the North Columbia Schoolhouse Cultural Center this Saturday, Feb 8th. There’s erotic poetry, burlesque, comedy, live jazz, incredible desserts and more. It’s always a ton of fun, and it always sells out, so get your tickets now.
Sounds like a great event, thanks for reminder the readers.
First of all, swooning over this list of giveaway goodies.
A win would make a very happy celebration of love for the
Four day weekend included With this valetines day!
Lucky you with a 4 day weekend… so glad you’re playing along, what did you buy at La Te Da with your gift certificate?
Making a special dinner with my husband!
Enjoy, then maybe a special dessert will be the perfect addition?
We have a family valentines day, cause we can never find a sitter. We make it special for the kids with heart shaped foods, a movie and popcorn.
Sounds like a great evening.
Headed to Miner’s Foundry for Valentines Night with my man and friends to dance and celebrate love!
Sounds like it’ll be a great show.
2/14/2014 has to be the cutest valentine’s day in history! i think we will celebrate with a sweet treat or two.
Can’t go wrong, right?
Am I the only one that thinks it’s funny that an event called Valentine Erotique is being held at the North Columbia Schoolhouse? No? Maybe it’s just me. And now we know why I’m single. Can you do a giveaway for a free boyfriend?
Ah ha, now I see the connection, you were reading the comments on the blog (how intelligent of you!). No free boyfriend, sorry my friend, but I can drag you to another Nevada County event, perhaps we’ll meet one there? Tomorrow, Center for the Arts talk with Melissa Arnot?
On this Valentines DAY, I will be making CARDS! And then I will share them with family – 51 years worth – at a special meal in the evening.
Thank you Erin, for all your beautiful photos. I’m so proud to live in this wonderful place!
Thanks Laurel, missed you at tonight’s card class, but I’m glad to see you’ll be making cards on your own.
We’ve had reservations at New Moon for a few weeks already. After dinner we’re going to see David Lindley.
Sounds like a great evening, and smart of you to plan ahead!
I’m headed to see The Fall Risk at the Foundry. They call it the Lover’s Ball, but I’m going alone. The Fall Risk is a continuance of some of the members from one of my favorite bands – Box Set (Bay Area following!) .. so I’m darn excited!!
I’ve got some guests at the Inn that are coming to town for the show, sounds like it’ll be fun.
Kiana says “making valentines cards, being cheerful, and not fighting with my brother.”
Good luck with the not-fighting agenda! Ben says hi.
I’m spending it at home .. and then going to the dentist!!
Lovely Valentine ideas! There are a lot of great choices in Nevada City to make the day special!
I am working that day, not sure of my hours yet, but no plans for Valentine’s Day.
Indeed, and so glad you’re keeping tabs on them 🙂
I’m going to a poetry reading at the As-If gallery to celebrate the opening of their Art of Love Show. Yay!
Oh, sounds like fun, saw the press release, thanks for the reminder!
We will celebrate by giving our flowers to Erin at Outside Inn for a job well done and for all she does for our special Nevada City community.
Ah, thanks Peggy.
hopefully we will have a sitter for the kids, i.e. grandma. but if not it will be the same as last year. at home with kids and another usual night of bed time routine. hopefully the husband will remember to do something this year, well see.
Chocolate. Wine. Done!
Wait, this is where you were suppose to say, “And go shopping at Yuba Blue in downtown Grass Valley for all your gifting needs, or buy a gift certificate so your sweetie can pick out what he/she wants.” But, yes, chocolate and wine sounds good too.
Valentines day will be spent with my wife and children. The people I love most in the world. So I guess everyday is like Valentines day for me….
I will be spending the day working with my hubby valentine, then will spend the evening with him too. I’m thinking about trying a new recipe for a relaxed evening at home.
Crafty goodness with the kiddos, chocolate covered berries, hugs and kisses with the hubby. Yep, a whole lotta’ love. Thanks for the great blog post!
I agree with Lillie. Chocolate and wine–and maybe an amazing dinner at home. Time together works for me.
80’s Prom Night looks awesome but we may just end up on the couch at home. Um, watching TV? 🙂
Congrats, Stephanie!
I hope you have a fabulous time!
Enjoy!
