Nevada City Victorian Christmas

Nevada City’s 41st Victorian Christmas is a great way to kick off the holiday season.  The street fair organized by the Nevada City Chamber transforms downtown Nevada City into a big street fair with over 100 vendors, food trucks, hot mulled wine, holiday music and more.  You can stock up on Christmas gifts, sit by the roaring fire with roasting chestnuts or catch up with old friends.  Make sure to keep an eye out for the walking Christmas tree, Father Christmas and Victorian Christmas Singers.  You can take a ride on the horse-drawn carriage, grab a bite to eat at one of the local food vendors (An Honest Pie, Coloma WrapsCalla Lilly Crepes, Horn of the Bull Taqueria, Falafel Kis, Kaliko’s Kitchen, The Top Dog, Sundance Catering, kettle corn, Fooki, Harper’s Harvest, Kimberly’s Kitchen to name a few or have a hot toddy from the Nevada City Chamber booth.  And don’t forget Nevada City Chocolate Shoppe will have homemade caramel apples, hot chocolate and apple cider for sale in front of their Broad Street shop.  Mark your calendars for Sunday December 9th, 16th and 23rd (1:30-6pm) and Wednesday December 12th and 19th (5-9pm).  If you can’t find a parking spot in town, remember you can always park at the Nevada County Government Center and catch the shuttle.

Entertainment from the NUHS Choir, Sometimes Singers, The Sierranaders, David Ayala, Ruckrich Family Band – Phil, Django & Jasmine, Joe Souza and Izzi Tooinsky, to name a few.  Please check the Chamber’s website for the full entertainment schedule.  New this year check out the photo booth in the parking lot next to Three Forks.

Grass Valley Cornish Christmas continues on Friday evenings till December 21st.

And stay tuned…. there’s something exciting coming to the blog at the end of the week.
