President’s Day Weekend Activities

Nevada City Mardi Gras, photo by Erin Thiem

This weekend is full of great events and things to do in Nevada City.  The Mardi Gras festivities kick off on Saturday night at the Costume Ball at the Miners Foundry and continue Sunday afternoon with a parade (2pm) and Carnevale (2:30-5:30pm).  If you don’t follow the Outside Inn on Facebook or Twitter, you can always check out my weekly events board on Pinterest for things to do every, updated every Tuesday.  And if you’re looking for some ideas on Valentine’s Day gifts, click here.  The Grass Valley downtown wine tasting rooms are hosting a wine stroll on Saturday afternoon, a great way to sample some local wines for your Valentine’s Day celebration. If you’re looking for some live music Zepparella is performing Friday night at the Miners Foundry and A Thousand Kisses Deep will be at the Nevada Theatre both Friday and Saturday nights.  If you’re looking for a family friendly activity try the Family Fun Day at The Center for the Arts or take advantage of the warm temperatures and go for a hike.  Whatever your weekend includes, there’s a lot going on in Nevada City.  And how exciting that VisitCalifornia gave a shout out to my VisitNevadaCity Instagram feed the other day, tag your local adventures online with #visitnevadacity to help showcase all the things to do, eat, see and enjoy in Nevada City.

It should be a great weekend to get out and do something. I’m hoping for the hike into town to take in the parade on Sunday.
