Holiday Concerts and Plays
The holidays are a great time to get out and support the arts with numerous concerts, plays and performances. Nutcracker Season returns with two different productions in Nevada County. Clara and the Nutcracker by Holt Ballet Conservatory at the Miners Foundry is tonight and tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday, December 10th and 11th (click here for photos from last year’s performance). The Nevada County Nutcracker returns to the Don Baggett Theater for the weekend of December 19th-21st with evening and matinée performances (thank you Lenkaland Photography for photos from last year’s performance). In addition to dance performances both Music in the Mountains and InConcert Sierra have holiday musical concerts. Music in the Mountains will have their Holiday Pops show at the Nevada County Fairgrounds Saturday and Sunday December 13th and 14th, with a free children’s concert on Saturday morning. InConcert Sierra will showcase the Sierra Master Chorale and Orchestra at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Saturday and Sunday, December 20th and 21st. Legacy Presents Tiny Tim’s Christmas at the Nevada Theatre through December 28th and Sonja Weissman and the Miracle Play continues at Off Center Stage through December 20th. With so many things to do how are you going to choose? Leave a comment about your favorite holiday concert. And don’t forget there’s still time to enter the Outside Inn Crazy Blog Giveaway.
