Gold Crush Climbing Gym

Have you been to Gold Crush Climbing Gym?  The 3000 square foot indoor climbing gym offers over 70 different routes, with options for bouldering, top rope and lead climbing.  The gym opened a year ago off Whispering Pines Lane (between Foothills Fitness and Grass Valley Cross Fit and next door to Peaceful Valley Farm & Garden Supply).  Built by a community of climbers, they offers drop in sessions or membership with 24 hour building access.  Ladies Night, the first Monday of the month, provides a yoga warm up session by Wild Mountain Yoga, $5 for guests, free for members, includes shoe rental (while supplies last).  Kids, ages 9-12 are invited to the Friday afternoon session, $15 for the gear rental and instructions, 3:30-5pm.

“Gold Crush is a small but mighty gym, with routes that are fun and challenging for all skill levels. Contributing to and supporting our community is at the heart of Gold Crush. With a grant for youth and low-income climbers, we’re able to make climbing affordable for families and those whose resources are fully committed. Please come by and experience the thrill of climbing!” said co-founder Desmond Sandy.

Post a comment and I’ve got one day pass and shoe rental to giveaway for one blog reader, winner will be announced Wednesday, May 23rd.  And the winner of last week’s Sierra Vintners Wine Trail giveaway is Cathy.  *Edited to say the winner of the day pass is Deanna Reardon.

My son really wants to try this out, a free pass would be an excellent way for him to do this.

I am so thrilled that we have a climbing gym here in town. I have spent time with my grandkids at Bend, Oregon’s climbing gym and it is a great activity for the family.

We are moving to Grass Valley the first week of June and can’t wait to check out the routes! May I suggest an on-site daycare for mama climbers!!! 😉
