Nevada City Events and Happenings

Every week our fabulous little community has something going on. While I’d love to say that I keep tabs on it all, I can’t make it to every event. So for those of those who don’t follow the Outside Inn on Facebook, Pinterest or Twitter, here’s a link to my weekly happenings board that I update every Tuesday. So if someone says “There’s nothing to do here” either send them here, to the blog, or check out that board for a long list of ideas and suggestions.

This weekend Nevada City Live continues at the historic Nevada Theatre and to help celebrate we’ve got a family four pass to Kids Cabaret. Izzi Tooinsky, internationally renown, locally loved, vaudevillian entertainer, equal parts juggler, clown, comedian, storyteller and now the mastermind and producer of Kids Cabaret, a variety show featuring young local performers premiering this Saturday, October 24 at 1pm.

Kids Cabaret is a wonderful variety of music and theater performed by some of the most inspired young entertainers living in Nevada County. From ages six to seventeen, many of the performers are already seasoned musicians, dancers and jugglers, while others are bringing their skill to the stage for the first time. “It is a magical experience to watch a young person step out on a stage for the very first time and show an audience what they love or are passionate about,” says Tooinsky.
