Evan Strong Day

Neada City's Hero's welcome to Evan Strong

Last night’s event at the Miners Foundry for Evan Strong was just another reminder on why I love our community.  If you missed all the news report and haven’t heard about Evan’s gold medal at the Sochi Winter Paralmpics, click here for my blog post last week with some great links and details.  The Sac Bee has a nice write up on the event, click here to read that article.  Evan said at the event last night,”I’m so stoked to be able to come home and share this story and experience and have you people live this experience through me.”  So while the parade was rained out, the town certainly gave a hero’s welcome.  Thanks to Nevada City Mayor Sally Harris for declaring April 1st officially “Evan Strong Day.”  Congrats to Evan for your accomplishments, we’ll all have to go to The Fix and have a piece of key lime pie to celebrate while you head off to the White House.  If you missed the event click here to watch the NCTV video.
