Bullards Bar, Scotts Flat and Lower Scotts FlatNevada City is known for the South Yuba River and all the magical places to cool down and explore, but have you ever considering have a day by the lake?  Within 20-30 minutes of downtown you could be at the shores of Scotts Flat, Lower Scotts Flat or Bullards Bar Resevoir.  Scotts Flat Lake, accesible from both the Scotts Flat Campground offers boating, SUP rental by Mountain Recreation, sailing and more.  On the Cascade Shores side in the summer you’re bound to see women training for the upcoming Barbara Schmidt Millar Triathlon, mark your calendars, this year’s event is September 15th, click here to register online.  So whatever your water activity may be, there are plenty of options nearby, jump in, stay cool and enjoy.

    The lakes here are great! I think Englebright and Rollins are also within 30 minutes. The most beautiful lake is only 25 miles away: Lake Spaulding.

    We had 9 campsites at Scotts Flat Lake this weekend for my Family Reunion and everyone had such a GREAT time. Thanks to Mountain Rec for their equipment!

    My favorite summer activity is anything having to do with keeping cool!! Being at the river, outside in the shade, or enjoying ice cream! I also enjoy taking photographs–the summer has so many beautiful happenings to capture!
